Religion vs Relationship - 05/05/2018 -

From where is it that your beliefs stem?

Some things you were taught, you just go with them?

Your parents say, "this is how it is, just follow through."

Your grandparents say,"don't ask, just do!"

Don't ask questions, don't disobey.
Follow our path, don't you stray!

You might have been told God is waiting for you to fall.

Onto the next one, you've dropped the ball.

You might believe you've done too much wrong.

Perhaps, that He's forgotten you. You've been away far too long.

Do you feel as though you are tethered with bonds?

Just a piece in the game, one of religion's pawns?

I'm here to tell you that just isn't true.

There is a better way, a wineskin that's new.

He chose you before the foundations of Earth.

He knew everything about you, before your birth.

God loves you, and He still speaks.
It's intimacy and relationship that He seeks.

There is purpose in the things you endure.
God is love, His intentions are pure.

Through trials you face, your character is molded.

He must deal with some things as your destiny is unfolded.

We've been appointed to heal the sick, raise the dead, and cast out demons.

We are called to worship and pray all kinds of prayers, for all kinds of reasons.

There is an enemy and he seeks to devour.

But the Kingdom is at hand in Spirit and power.

The Bible says snakes and scorpions are under our feet.

When you know who you are and your authority, they must admit defeat.

We are commanded to go into ALL the
world and preach.

Not gather once a week to sit and listen to someone teach.

You are to love your neighbor the same as you.

Instead you turn them away for the sins they do.

With fingers in ears, you don't want to hear it.

Religion is real, and it's disguised as a spirit.

The religious spirit hiding in churches today

Is the very same that sent Jesus to his tomb to lay.

No matter if you are a preacher or on death row.

God loves you more than you'll ever know.

I say these things to prick your heart.

You could say, I'm just "doing my part."

I urge you, come run with me, be free!

For now we know that relationship is the key.
